HDTV TVs

Author: bbedsaul  //  Category: HDTV Accessories, HDTV TVs

There are so many things you need to know about HDTV TVs these days. Just keeping up with all the new connections and wiring that you need for a basic Home Theater is a lot of information.

Of course, you can pay to have everything professionally installed and maintained, but that is a lot of money. Fortunately, there are a lot of things that can be done by someone with a DIY bent. The key is to find an information source that you can rely on.

Most technology enthusiasts are eager to share their knowledge and experience. That is what we at Whirlwindz HDTV TVs are building. An independent body of HDTV recommendations and reviews. In the near term, we will be rolling out a review application so that you can share your knowledge, information and recommendations with others that are looking to make an HDTV related purchase.

In the meantime, I would heartily recommend, the Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics tool for calibrating your HDTV. Most people don’t realize that when a manufacturer ships an HDTV, they adjust the controls so that it will view best under florescent, showroom lights, not usually the lighting conditions presented in the average living room. In order to correctly calibrate your newly purchased HDTV, you can either choose to pay a few hundred dollars to have it done professionally or you can spend a much smaller amount and do it yourself. This also gives you the additional benefit of being able to recalibrate at a later date… for free.

Digital Video Essentials gives you a completely menu driven system that includes explanations for each step, test patterns to allow you to do the actual adjustments and even tests to perform to adjust your sound system. It is a complete tune-up for your HDTV.

Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics is truly an essential tool for the HDTV owner.

Getting a PS3, what accessories should I get?

Author: admin  //  Category: HDTV Accessories

I heard that an HDMI cable is required to play it on my 40 inch HDTV, is there any type that is cheap? (Under 50 dollars) Also, are there any other accessories that are useful?
Keyser, but without an HDMI cable it wouldn't be high definition would it? I don't know much about this so bear with me here.

You can use any cable that your tv has an input for, it does not need to be HDMI unless that’s all your tv supports.

As far as accessories I would get an extra controller or two, the PlayStaion Eye, a bluetooth headset, and the Bluetooth remote control.

I would also recommend a bigger hard drive, depending on how much you’ll have saved on it. I put a 250GB hdd in my 60GB PS3 for under $100 and got an enclosure to put the old 60GB hdd in.

What cables, cords, etc. do I need to hook up my HDTV?

Author: admin  //  Category: HDTV Accessories

I'm buying a Samsung LCD HDTV online (my 1st HDTV), and I'm wondering what cables, cords, or other accessories I'll need to install it so I can buy them ahead of time. I currently have digital cable through a little box attached to my standard CRT TV. I have a standard DVD player, too. Will I need a new cable box or anything special for cable? Thanks in advance for all the help!

HD connections are either Component (those 5 cords, similar to composite[red/yellow/white]), or HDMI. Component is an analog signal, so the cable needs to be shielded and stuff. However, with an LCD, you're better off going with an HDMI cable. Go online to www.monoprice.com and snag one for like $10. If you're doing a cable run <12ft, the monoprice cables will be more than enough. Monster cables will cost over $100 for the same length.

Even though you have an HDTV, remember your cable tv won't be in HD unless you 1) subscribe to an HD package or have an HD antenna and 2) Use HD cables to connect the box to your television.

Your DVD player will hook up just fine. There's always RCA inputs on the back or side of the TV.

Do I need an HDTV to enjoy the Xbox 360?

Author: admin  //  Category: HDTV Accessories

Next gen video game consoles' costs are at an unprecedented price range. To get the "total" Xbox experience, you will spend well over 1000 thousand dollars in accessories, internet services, HDTV's, and games. The video gaming industry has lost vision and only sees potential for greed. Video games are for kids and not for adult millionaires. What idiot doesn't realize Bill Gates has a "profitable" hand in the HDTV industry. This is a well thought-out ploy to push content standard television owners into overrated HDTV systems which are still ahead of their time.

I think you are a grown ass man who shouldn't be playing video games to begin with. And why'd you have to call me an idiot? That's it….you're cut off for the rest of the week!!! I love you too.
